Bad Weather Conditions & Cancellations

High Winds & Rough Weather Cancellation Notice

Bradenton & Anna Maria Island Fishing Charters

Safety is the top priority for all guests and crew aboard Kick Azz Fishing Charters in Bradenton and Anna Maria Island. While weather conditions in Tampa Bay and the Gulf of Mexico can change quickly, we closely monitor marine forecasts to ensure safe fishing conditions for every inshore and offshore charter.

We strongly advise against fishing when wave heights exceed 2.5–3 feet and are building, or when sustained winds exceed 15 mph. These conditions can create unsafe and uncomfortable situations, particularly on offshore and deep sea fishing trips.

If weather conditions are deemed unsafe by the captain, we may:

  • Reschedule your fishing charter

  • Offer an alternate date

  • Provide a refund if rescheduling is not possible

Light rain does not typically cancel a trip, but high winds, strong storms, or hazardous marine advisories may require cancellation.

Our goal is to provide a safe, professional, and enjoyable fishing experience in Bradenton and Anna Maria Island while respecting the power of the Gulf’s changing conditions.

If you have questions about weather conditions prior to your scheduled charter, please contact us directly.

Rain or Shine Policy

Bradenton & Anna Maria Island Fishing Charters

Kickazz Fishing Charters operates rain or shine; however, safety is always our highest priority. Our captains reserve the absolute right to cancel or end any fishing charter at any time if unsafe weather or hazardous conditions arise in Tampa Bay or the Gulf of Mexico.

We begin every Bradenton and Anna Maria Island fishing charter with the full intention of completing the entire booked trip duration. In the event of developing thunderstorms, lightning, heavy rain, high winds, or other dangerous marine conditions, our captain will make reasonable efforts to safely navigate around the weather when possible.

However, weather conditions can change quickly and avoidance is not always guaranteed. If conditions become unsafe, the captain will immediately and decisively end the trip to protect all passengers and crew.

If a charter must be cut short due to rain, lightning, or other safety concerns, pricing will be adjusted fairly based on the actual time spent on the water.

Our goal is to provide a safe, professional, and enjoyable fishing experience in Bradenton and Anna Maria Island while respecting the unpredictable nature of Gulf Coast weather.

If you have questions about marine forecasts before your scheduled fishing charter, please contact us directly.

Sea Sickness & Early Return Policy

Bradenton & Anna Maria Island Fishing Charters

At Kick Azz Fishing Charters, your safety and comfort are our priority. While sea sickness is uncommon on most of our Bradenton and Anna Maria Island fishing charters, we understand that it can occasionally occur.

The individual who books the charter assumes responsibility for all members of the fishing party. If someone becomes sea sick during the trip, the group must decide whether to continue fishing or return to the dock. Our captains are committed to completing the full duration of the scheduled charter if the majority of the group wishes to remain on the water.

A trip will only be ended early due to sea sickness if the entire party agrees to return to the dock.

Minimum Charges for Early Return Due to Sea Sickness

If a fishing charter is ended early because of sea sickness, the following minimum charges apply:

Inshore Fishing Charters:
Minimum charge of a 4-hour charter rate ($500.00 plus any applicable per-person fees).

Deep Sea & Offshore Fishing Charters:
Minimum charge of the 4-hour deep sea charter rate ($1,000.00).

For trips originally booked longer than four hours, billing will follow the standard charter pricing schedule based on the reserved trip length.

Preventing Motion Sickness on Offshore Fishing Trips

Guests who are prone to motion sickness are strongly encouraged to:

  • Take over-the-counter medication prior to departure

  • Consult with their physician before booking a deep sea fishing charter

  • Avoid heavy meals before boarding

  • Stay hydrated

Nearshore and inshore fishing trips in Tampa Bay often provide calmer water conditions compared to offshore Gulf of Mexico charters.

We appreciate your understanding of this policy. Our goal is to provide safe, professional fishing charters in Bradenton and Anna Maria Island while ensuring an enjoyable experience for all guests.

If you have questions about booking an offshore or inshore fishing trip, please contact us before your charter date.
